I designed the layout for the home page (under the guidance of Kapowza’s art director). With a guiding philosophy of beautiful accessibility, we made certain that the site exceeded ADA guidelines.

Client: Bloomin’ Brands; Agency: Kapowza and Response Labs

I worked on an email marketing campaigns for Bloomin’ Brands, the parent company for Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s, and Bonefish Grill. The campaigns aimed to reach Bloomin’ Brands customers who had not engaged with the brand recently. My task was to target these customers through eye-catching visuals, animations, and email layouts for the three restaurants.

Client: Home Land Environmental; Agency: Kapowza

I created this packaging for Home Land Environmental’s first retail project: a kit that allows customers to test their homes for mold. The packaging needed to be friendly, approachable, clean, and professional. Through discussions with the client, we settled on using simple illustrations and patterns to achieve this.

Client: Downtown Partnership; Agency: Kapowza

In early March 2020, Kapowza closed on a contract to design the website for Baltimore City’s restaurant week. A couple weeks later, the pandemic shut down indoor dining. For a while we weren’t even sure whether or not restaurant week would happen. By the time we got the go-ahead from Downtown Partnership, we needed to work quickly to allow developers sufficient time to build the site.

I designed this website in collaboration with graphic designer Briana Roberts. Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) aims to attract businesses to Baltimore. They needed a website that was eye-catching, fun, and professional. Briana and I live in different states, so we collaborated on this by sharing screenshots of our designs and sharing our screens over Google Meet. I designed the first draft, then sent it to Briana. Briana expanded on that, then sent it to me to clean up the product before sending over to the client.

Here is a sampling of social media images that I designed for the Maryland School for the Blind. These posts were interspersed with photographs of school life. We wanted these images to be high-contrast for people with low vision.

Client: Andros; Agency: Kapowza

Andros organizes data for healthcare providers and insurers. They created a web application that served as a portal for doctors to keep track of patient data. They needed a clean, easily understandable layout that could accommodate a lot of data.

Note: In these mock-ups, the names, data, text, and other details are intentionally generic to protect patient confidentiality.

I created this based on a prompt. I was given a random quote to turn into a poster. The quote: “I am the best, or at least the one you’re not.” I took the opportunity to explore texture and play with readability.

Client: BMore Tech Connect
Agency: Kapowza

BMore Tech Connect is a platform that connects Baltimore’s tech community. Through discussions with the client, we settled on an isometric chain as a symbol of interconnectedness and technology.

Client: Valley Lighting; Agency: Kapowza

Valley Lighting is a trusted business for lighting in the Mid-Atlantic area. They needed a website that could showcase their projects.

As an exercise, I created two posters for an imagined jazz festival in Washington, DC. I wanted to use typography to create a layout that invoked modernist paintings.

Client: Temple View Capital; Agency: Kapowza

Temple View Capital is a real estate investment firm that serves most of the United States. They needed a logo that could communicate tradition and stability.

I made these photo illustrations in response to a 2017 New York Times article titled “America’s New Anxiety Disorder.” The article discusses a new age of manufactured anxiety in the wake of Donald Trump’s election.

Client: Betamore; Agency: Kapowza

Beta City was an event, hosted by Beta City, that aimed to connect leaders and entrepreneurs in Baltimore. This map was displayed on a digital screen near the event entrance. The background for the map is a historic photograph of Baltimore that I pixilated and recolored.

Personal Project

I made these photo illustrations to celebrate different Polish and Ukrainian dishes. The words are spelled out using ingredients in each dish.
